When it comes to showcasing talent and giving fans what they want when it comes to live music, East Coast Alternative know how to deliver.
For that reason, on Saturday 27 April at the Old Bundy Tavern, East Coast Alternative are changing it up a little and having a Rock Night featuring
The Electric Banana, Majiga, The Purple Hills, Reckless Error,
The Fifth and Last Chance Saloon from Rockhampton.
Audiences will be happy to see The Purple Hills back with Bevan Sipers on vocals, electric guitars, slide guitars,
acoustic guitar combined with the powerful, driving drums on Dane Bevan.
Bevan said he was excited to play another East Coast Alternative event with Dane on the drums which he loves because he drums like an animal.
“Especially for this night, I guess you can say I have super charged my songs, allowing me to perform a more hard-rock version of the material,
still with a soul/blues edge,” Bevan said.
“I love what Andrew and the crew are doing with these East Coast Alternative events as it’s really created a local platform for original music
and it has helped produce a sort of community of musicians listening and supporting each other.”
Rockhampton-based band, Last Chance Saloon with Kier Torpy, Dean Netherwood
and Zac Wholohan, can’t wait to play at East Coast Alternative’s Rock Event.
The original band have been influenced by rock bands including RATM, Silverchair,
Incubus and Grinspoon and includes plenty of experience and clear passion for what they do.
It is interesting to see the mix of experience and influences shared within Last Chance Saloon considering Kier, who is originally from
Newcastle, has been playing music since he was 14 and is now a multi-instrumentalist able to play the guitar and drums as well as regularly
penning some original songs.
It was a natural progression for Dean to take up singing, especially considering his mother was a singing teacher,
but although he has showcased his fair share of different styles, he truly loves rock and really working the crowd.
Add to this, Zac on bass and you’ve got a set to blow the minds of audiences at the Rock Event.
Kier and Dean both agreed they love to perform live and couldn’t wait to share some heavy backing guitars and real pub rock to Bundy.
“There is nothing that we enjoy more than performing live and really getting the crowd going,
so get set Bundy as we are really ready to bring our best,” Kier said.
“We have three covers in our set and the rest are originals and both Dean and I are currently developing more in our song bank ready to go
so we can start recording as soon as possible.”
Until then, they are ready to share the stage and put on another show to remember for East Coast Alternative.
Keep an eye out for some other upcoming events for East Coast Alternative including acoustic events and even under 18 events.
